2 herdsmen missing, 73 cows killed as suspected Benue Tiv militia attack community in Nasarawa state

About hundred gunmen suspected to be members of the Tiv militia from Benue state allegedly attacked Kadarko community in Keana local government area of Nasarawa in the early hours of Sunday, January 28, killing seventy-three cows.
The chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa chapter, Muhammed Hussaini, said that the gunmen attack the village, which is located between Benue and Nasarawa states in the early hours of Sunday, January 28, shooting sporadically.
The gunmen reportedly killed 73 cows, injured many other cows and rustled over 200 others before returning to Benue state.
Daily Trust reports that MACBAN has called on all the affected herders to remain calm as government and security operatives were working to ensure that the perpetrators faced the full wrath of the law.
When contacted, the Nasarawa state Police Public Relations Officer, DPS Idrisu Kennedy, confirmed the attack.
Kennedy said no life was lost but six people went missing and four have been found alive while two Fulani herders are still missing.

He said: “As I am talking to you we are still on our way from the place where the incident happened.
